Beans Slowly Waking Up
VANCOUVER - Aug 24/12 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets continued to show more signs of life during the past week, with a modest improvement in trading interest.
However, exporters continue to wait for the European summer holiday season to end after the coming week, expecting buying interest to rise further.
Markets paid no attention to the latest crop production estimates from Statistics Canada. The only number published was a production estimate for white beans in Ontario, which were pegged at 54,400 metric tons (MT).
