No Bullish Weather News in Beans

VANCOUVER - Jun 16/12 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone under relatively light trading interest despite the absence of bullish weather events in some of the key production areas.

Seeding is advancing at a solid pace in the United States. Markets there were somewhat mixed, with inter-dealer markets showing a firmer tone, while bids to growers showed an easing tone.

This was reflected in North American markets where the spot price index for U.S. beans rose five points to finish the week at 1644, even as the grower bid index was down 6 points at 1550.
