Modest Strength in Beans

VANCOUVER - Jun 2/12 - SNS -- The world's dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading with a slightly firmer undertone against expectations of improved demand from Brazil and other Latin American destinations.

This was helped by speculative worries about whether the bulk of Argentina's white alubia bean crop would be ready to cut before the first killing frost of the year.

This has Argentine exporters adopting a defensive attitude toward both colored and white beans.
