Mixed Finish For World Beans

VANCOUVER - Apr 6/12 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note against reports Mexico and China have failed to resolve phytosanitary concerns over black beans.

This should drive demand for that class of bean to the United States, Canada and Argentina later in the year.

The change in sentiment was reflected on inter-dealer markets in the United States, with the spot price index for U.S. beans jumping 52 points to finish the week at 1803, while the grower bid index was unchanged at 1596.
