Beans Hold Firm Tone

VANCOUVER - Feb 10/12 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone throughout the past week on the basis of a bullish, regional outlook.

This was underlined by the latest monthly export trade data, which revealed that Mexico took over half the nearly 40,000 metric tons (MT) dry edible bean exported from the United States in December.

Interestingly, Canada is seeing virtually no direct demand from Mexico, which has been suffering through one of the worst droughts in the country's history.
