Currency Worries Limit Bean Business

VANCOUVER - Nov 5/11 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week on a mixed note, with the need of some exporters to resell goods making it easier for buyers to ignore origin sellers.

Even so, the spot market index for U.S. origin beans only closed one point lower on the week at 1683.

By contrast, the index for grower bids was 12 points higher 1573 points. This reflects the fact many growers do not need to sell beans to cover cash flow needs.
