Record High Prices in U.S. Beans

VANCOUVER - Aug 5/11 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a strong note, with U.S. dry edible bean price index setting a new historic high by week's end.

It was up 43 points on the week at 1480, surpassing its previous high of 1467, set in September of 2008.

Meanwhile, the index for grower bids jumped 83 points on the week to finish at 1308, 30 points shy of its record of 1338 set in September of 2008.
