Firm Finish in Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Jul 30/11 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a firm note against limited availability of good quality product from Argentina and other origins.

This helped sustain the spot market index for dry edible beans in the United States. It was up two points on the week at 1437, keeping it at the upper end of its historic range, and not far from its record high of 1467, set in September of 2008.

Meanwhile, the index for grower bids jumped 37 points on the week to finish at 1225.
