Firm Finish For Beans

VANCOUVER - Jul 22/11 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note against ongoing demand from some destinations and worries about the status of North American crops.

This helped sustain the spot market index for dry edible beans in the United States. It was up 22 points on the week at 1433, keeping it at the upper end of its historic range, and not far from its record high of 1467, set in September of 2008.

Meanwhile, the index for grower bids was unchanged at 1188.
