Myanmar Export Remain Strong in February

VANCOUVER - Mar 19/11 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar started maintained their strong pace through February, with total shipments hitting 87,418 metric tons (MT), down almost 38,000 MT from the same month last year, and just above the 81,145 MT shipped in January.

Mung bean (green gram) accounted for 41% of the total exports, followed by Matpe (black gram) 30% and toor whole (pigeon pea) 24%. India and China were the largest buyers accounting for 50,577 MT or 58% and 9,335 MT or 11% of total exports respectively.

The U.S. agricultural attache for the country reports that 5,200 MT of Matpe ready cargo (RC) and 700 MT of Matpe Special RC were traded in Bayint Naung wholesale market.
