Few Changes in Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Mar 13/11 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were little changed under relatively light trading interest during the past week.

North American markets continued to firm against ongoing demand from Mexico and the need to be more competitive at the grower level to maintain acreage.

This was reflected in the spot market index for dry edible beans in the United States, which rose two points on the week to finish at 1179. Meanwhile, the index for grower bids gained 14 points to finish at 1054.
