Edible Beans Post Firm Finish

VANCOUVER - Feb 26/11 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets in North America maintained their bullish tone through the past week, with prices more most major classes once again advancing on the week.

The underlying firmness of markets was reflected in the spot market index from dry edible beans in the United States, which rose 32 points on the week to finish at 1170.

Improved inter-dealer markets were partly reflected in growers bids in the United States, with the index for grower bids gaining 20 points to finish at 1038. Similar declines are expected in Canada, with soybeans continuing to push edible beans out of rotations in Manitoba.
