WASHINGTON - Sep 12/23 - SNS --Production of sugarbeets for the 2023 crop year is forecast at 35.3 million tons, up 3% from last month and up 8% from last year, according to the latest USDA production estimates for 2023.
Producers expect to harvest 1.12 million acres up 1% from last month but down 2% from last year. Yield is forecast at 31.5 tons per acre, up 0.6 ton from last month and up 2.9 tons from last year.
