Canada's Yellow Pea Exports Open On Strong Tone
PANAMA - Apr 2/20 - SNS -- Canada's exports of yellow peas in February rose sharply, soaring compared to the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Total export sales throughout the month amounted to 248,754 metric tons (MT), up 82% from the previous month's total of 136,540. So far movement has reached 1,853,678 MT, up from 1,429,310 during the previous marketing year.
China was the largest consumer for the month, buying 170,818 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination taking 51,595 MT, followed by Nepal at 9,516 MT.
