Pea Stocks Tightening

PANAMA - May 28/17 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note against fill in buying by exporters.

Quantities loaded to vessels and containers are down sharply so far in May from the previous month, but could be on pace to beat current forecasts that Canadian exporters will reach 3.58 million metric ton (MT) for the current marketing year.

With growers now seeding this year's crops, this has resulted in seasonally tight supplies. Consequently, both grower bids and export asking prices have firmed in spot markets.
