Strong Movement Supports Peas
PANAMA - Oct 7/16 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week unchanged to firmer against strong, short term export movement.
The depth of spot demand is reflected in the fact that Canada loaded almost one million metric tons (MT) of field peas to bulk vessels during September. The previous record was last year in September when the CGC reported 587,800 MT of bulk peas were loaded.
Purchases from growers remain relatively strong, with total deliveries into the bulk handling system up almost 40% over last year at 1.677 million MT between August 1 and October 2.
