Beans Sideways in Quiet Trade

PANAMA - Sep 10/16 - SNS -- Dry edible bean harvest activity is getting underway in North America. Yet, many market participants remain in their roles of spectators.

Processors and exporters want to get a better picture of yields and quality before adding to sales positions. Importers are similarly approaching markets with caution, hoping for lower average prices once the supply situation is clearer.

This was reflected in pricing on North American markets. Many processors are withdrawn in both dealer and grower markets. This was reflected in the U.S. spot index for beans, which was unchanged on the week down 0.10 points at 137.2.
