Steady Movement Helps Peas
PANAMA - Mar 4/16 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a slightly firmer note despite concerns that markets will soon decline into new crop trading levels.
Markets were also helped by the lastest USDA PL-480 food aid tender activity, which saw it request offers of 15,180 metric tons (MT) of split yellow peas in a tender issued at week's end.
Export movement from Canada is slowing, though demand from the Indian subcontinent is expected to rebuild as importers work through existing inventories.
