Argentine Beans Seeding Underway

VANCOUVER - Feb 20/15 - SNS -- The world's dry edible bean markets finished a holiday shortened trading week unchanged to slightly firmer, even though the fact seeding is now underway in Argentina reminds markets that the fundamentals will start to shift.

This was reflected in the spot price index for U.S. origin pulses, which gained 0.4 points to finish at 152.05 on strength in minor classes of dry beans.

The world export price index for pulses was helped by strength in beans and Australian lentils, gaining 1.5 points to finish the week at 174.5. Canada's special crop index rose 0.7 points to finish the week at 186.1.
