French Pea Exports Collapsing
VANCOUVER - Jan 30/15 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France remained at low level in October, falling well below year earlier levels, and sinking below the previous month, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments during the month totalled 7,815 metric tons (MT), down 27% from the 10,640 MT shipped the previous month, and down 54% from the 17,035 MT shipped the same month last year.
Most peas were shipped to European destinations, with Belgium the most important, followed by Italy and Netherlands. No field pea shipments were reported to Egypt or the Indian subcontinent.
