USDA Crop Report Helps Dry Beans

VANCOUVER - Jan 16/15 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets were helped by the final USDA crop report for the year, which did not significantly increase production.

The net effect is markets expect stocks of most classes of beans to tight, encouraging an overall expansion in seeded area in the United States and Canada.

This was reflected in the spot price index for U.S. origin pulses, which gained 1.44 points to finish at 150.9 on strength in minor classes of dry beans.
