Strong Week for Yellow Peas
VANCOUVER - Jan 16/15 - SNS -- Yellow pea markets finished the week's trading on a firm note as available supplies from growers fell behind the medium term needs of the market.
This has helped narrow the difference between green and yellow pea bids at the grower level, with yellow peas rising to close the gap.
Since the end of November prices offered to Canadian growers have jumped roughly U.S. $32 per metric ton (MT) for farmer's dressed yellow peas compared to a $15 increase in green pea bids.
