Firm Tone in North American Beans

VANCOUVER - Dec 20/14 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets in North America maintained their firm tone through the past week as markets shifted into holiday mode.

Processors and exporters adopted more defensive pricing ideas to lessen the risk of getting involved with negotiations through Christmas and New Year's.

This was reflected in the spot price index for U.S. origin pulses, which closed up 1.24 points at 144.6. The world pulse price index finished the week 0.2 points lower at 161.5.
