French Pea Exports Remain Low
VANCOUVER - Dec 11/14 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France remained at low level in October, falling well below year earlier levels, though rising above the previous month, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments during the month totalled 10,640 metric tons (MT), up 36% from the 7,827 MT shipped the previous month, and down 37% from the 16,880 MT shipped the same month last year.
Most peas were shipped to European destinations, with Belgium the most important, followed by Italy and Netherlands. No field pea shipments were reported to Egypt or the Indian subcontinent.
