Canada's Bulk Pea Exports Trend Lower
VANCOUVER - Apr 28/14 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 31,800 metric tons (MT) field pea were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in March.
The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports exports are down from the 323,200 MT shipped the same month last year and down from the 77,000 MT shipped the previous month.
With March's poor export performance, season to date bulk field pea exports have now fallen below the previous marketing year. Since the August start of the current marketing year bulk conventional exports have totalled 1,195,600 MT; versus 1,356,000 MT during the same period last season.
