Peas Helped by Fresh Demand

VANCOUVER - Apr 5/14 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading little changed as fresh buying from the Indian subcontinent restored optimism about overall demand from that region.

Markets were not troubled by the USDA seeding intentions estimates. Area in the United States is expected to climb from 860,000 to 921,000 acres this year.

If achieved, it will be the second largest field pea area in U.S. history, just behind the 925,500 acres sown in 2006.
