Dry Bean Exporters Sit on Hands

VANCOUVER - Mar 28/14 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets experienced another week of limited trading activity as high prices kept buying on a hand to mouth basis.

At the same time, exporters showed little interest in pursuing new business because of worries about crop prospects in Argentina and parts of the United States.

This was reflected in the spot market index for U.S. beans. While down a modest 0.29 points on the week, the index remains 2.9% above month earlier levels at 168.02 points.
