Transportation Worries World Trade

GOA - Feb 20/14 - SNS -- Transportation problems in North America dominated much of the discussion about markets at the Global Pulses Conclave organized by the India Pulses and Grains Association.

Speaking to delegates, STAT Publishing's Brian Clancey noted that problems started early in the marketing year because of a slower than normal start to harvests in Saskatchewan and parts of the United States.

While the pace of Saskatchewan's harvest was back to normal by the end of August, exporters lost some chances to ship product early enough to reliably meet August-September shipping commitments.
