Car Backlogs Hamper Pea Movement
VANCOUVER - Oct 25/13 - SNS -- Logistics remained front and center in the minds of field pea exporters and importers during the past week as the arrivals of product in port positions failed to keep pace with vessels.
Some Canadian shippers complain they now face a three-week backlog on railcars from CP Rail a five-week backlog from CN Rail.
In some cases, peas will not be in position to meet ships now arriving in Vancouver until at least the second week of November possibly later in other cases.
