Good Pace For French Pea Exports
VANCOUVER - Oct 10/13 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France maintained their relatively strong pace through August, with shipments remaining above year earlier levels, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments in August totalled 15,475 metric tons (MT), up around 25% from the 12,015 MT shipped the same month last year, but down from the 16,775 shipped the previous month.
The first shipments to Egypt were reported during the month, but there were no reports of movement to the Indian subcontinent. Most peas were shipped to European destinations, with Belgium the most important, followed by Norway and the United Kingdom.
