USDA Buys 820 MT Peas
KANSAS CITY - Sep 20/13 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 820 metric tons (MT) of peas for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 20000206` the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags. Purchases are for shipment from interior plants between October 16 to November 6 and between November 7 to November 28 for plants located at port.
In releasing the tender results, the USADA said 6,500 MT of yellow split peas were not bought "due to a change in program requirements".
