Few Changes in Beans

VANCOUVER - May 24/13 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week virtually unchanged under light trading conditions.

Markets are moderately concerned about the slow pace of seeding in some of the key growing areas in the United States.

Though seeding is underway across the growing area, progress remains well behind last year in North Dakota, Minnesota and other important producing states.

This was partly reflected in the U.S. spot market index for dry edible beans, which finished the week up four points at 1323. By contrast, the grower index was unchanged on the week, finishing at 1222.
