French Pea Exports Improve
VANCOUVER - May 13/13 - SNS -- The pace of field pea export movement from France continued to accelerate in March, rising above month-earlier, but falling below year-earlier levels, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments in March totalled 19,955 metric tons (MT), up 72% from the 11,610 shipped in February, but shaorly down from the 35,745 MT shipped the same month last year. This lifts export shipments so far this marketing year to 114,295 MT, compared to 203,515 MT during the same period last season.
Europe destinations remained the most important during the month, accounting for at least 99.3% of total field pea exports.
