Short Covering Firms Yellow peas
VANCOUVER - May 10/13 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week trading little changed, with Canadian yellow peas helped by short covering in both grower and inter-dealer markets.
Export movement from Canada remains brisk, with the Canadian Grain Commission reporting that 106,400 metric tons (MT) of peas were loaded to bulk vessels in Vancouver during the week ending May 5.
Bulk clearances are not expected to match the season high set in March, but the pace of exports is clearly higher than the stocks in all positions reports imply is possible.
