USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Apr 5/13 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Apr 5.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain prices again tumbled as corn and soybeans are
still feeling the pressure from last week’s USDA Stocks Report.  May corn is now
trading at levels very close to a year ago.  Crude oil had sharp losses this
week also pressuring the corn market.  On Wednesday of this week soybeans closed
at a new 9 month low for the November contract.  South America soybeans are
improving and could hamper US soybean demand.  K. C. wheat had more losses
compared to Chicago wheat as a more favorable rainfall pattern over the next
week across the Southern Plains could improve wheat conditions.  Corn had weekly
exports sales totaling 387,300 mt (15.2 mb) with 354,300 mt (13.9 mb) for
current marketing year.  Soybeans had bullish weekly export sales of 747,800 mt
(27.5 mb) with 392,700 mt (14.4 mb) for 2012-2013 and 355,100 mt for next
marketing year.  Wheat had weekly export sales of 316,000 (11.6 mb) with 141,200
mt (5.2 mb) for 2012-2013.  Wheat closed mostly unchanged to 28 cents lower for
the week.  Corn traded 57-79 cents lower and grain sorghum 1.16 to 1.17 cents
lower for the week.  Soybeans closed 9-33 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was
unchanged to 10 cents lower from 7.86 3/4-8.36 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US
No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 7 cents higher at 7.04 per bushel.  Minneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 28
3/4 cents lower at 8.76 1/2 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail was
7.95-8.10 with no comparison from last week.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 56-78 cents lowerr from 6.89-
7.19 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 65 cents lower at
6.78 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 63-64 cents lower from
6.57-6.60 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 65 1/4 to 79 1/4 cents
lower from 6.25-6.53 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 66 1/4
cents lower from 6.42-6.47 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was
57 1/4 cents lower at 6.22 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 32 1/4-37 1/4 cents lower at 3.89-3.94 per bushel.  US No 3 or better
rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was quoted at
6.25 per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 1.16 cents lower at 11.07 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 1.16-1.17 lower from 11.20-11.25 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 33 3/4 cents lower at 13.66
per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 9 3/4-27 3/4
cents lower from 14.20-14.27 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck
soybeans were 23 cents lower at 14.29 per bushel.  Central Illinois 48
percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 5.50-8.50 lower from 405.10-
409.10 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 6 to 81
points lower from 47.80-49.05 cents per pound.
