Myanmar's Exports Drop in November

WASHINGTON - Jan 24/13 - SNS -- Dry edible bean and pulse exports from Myanmar dropped in November, falling 27% from October to 80,369 metric tons (MT).

The number was better than during the same month last year and helped lift calendar year to date exports to 1.464 million MT, up 14% from the same 11-month period last year. Export movement is similar to that recorded in 2009, which finished the year with total movement of 1.536 million MT of pulses.

Matpe beans (black gram) accounted for 63% of the total exports, followed by Mung beans and Toor Whole with 26% and 7% respectively. India accounted for 76% of total exports while Singapore accounted for 14%.
