Demand Rationing in Peas
VANCOUVER - Nov 17/12 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the week's trading on a generally firm note, with prices remaining at levels which are intended to discourage demand.
This is especially true of green peas, with asking prices for whole and split green peas holding a premium to most classes of lentils.
Markets were unsure how to respond to news that India's Commission for Agriculture Costs and Prices (CACP) has recommended that the current ban on pulse exports be lifted and that the government impose a 10% duty on imported pulses.
