September Pea Export Movement Down From Last Year
VANCOUVER - Nov 1/12 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 227,700 metric tons (MT) field pea were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in September. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports exports are down from the 380,700 MT shipped the same month last year and up from the 150,600 MT shipped the previous month. This lifted season to date exports to 378,200 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, versus 491,400 MT during the same period last season.
The 2011-12 marketing year finished with 1,605,800 MT of peas have been exported through terminals reporting to the CGC, versus 2,461,100 MT the previous season.
