Growers Already Sold 18% of Pea Crop
VANCOUVER - Sep 29/12 - SNS -- Canadian field pea markets finished the weeks trading on a somewhat mixed note, with yellow peas steady and green peas firmer.
Movement through the first eight weeks of the 2012-13 marketing year was excellent, with bulk conventional export clearances down just 8,200 metric tons (MT) from last year at 383,400 MT through terminals reporting to the Canadian Grain Commission.
Grower deliveries are up almost 14,000 MT at 602,400 MT since the start of the marketing year, representing 18% of the available supply of peas in western Canada.
