Peas Hold Firm
VANCOUVER - Sep 15/12 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a generally firm note as processors and exporters worked to fill current shipping needs.
Export movement from Canada has been relatively good, with bulk vessel clearances from licensed terminals totaling 250,700 metric tons (MT) during the first six weeks of the marketing year, compared to 252,300 MT during the same period last year.
Over the same period, farmers sold line elevator companies 562,900 MT of peas during the same six-week period, up sharply from the 490,700 MT delivered last year.
