Slow Start to France's 2012-13 Season

VANCOUVER - Sep 10/12 - SNS -- France's 2012-13 export campaign got underway on a relatively slow note in July, with shipments down from both month and year earlier levels, according to the latest data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).

Export shipments in July totalled 7,860 metric tons (MT), down sharply form the 29,175 shipped in June and 17,050 MT shipped the same month last year.

Virtually all of the shipments in July targeted European neighbors, with just 35 MT potentially going to customers outside the region.
