Beans Mostly Unchanged

VANCOUVER - Apr 30/11 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were mostly unchanged under relatively light trading interest during the past week, with many traders attending this year's CICILS convention in Barcelona, Spain.

The absence of significant trading interest was reflected in the spot market index for dry edible beans in the United States, which was unchanged on the week to finish at 1231. Meanwhile, the index for grower bids was unchanged at 1089.

There was obvious tension between buyers and sellers, with importers expressing frustration over bullish sentiment resulting from forecasts of a general decline in world pulse production levels.
