Myanmar's March Exports Hold Steady

VANCOUVER - Apr 14/11 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar were steady through March, with total shipments hitting 87,129 metric tons (MT) during the month, down almost 46,000 MT from the same month last year, and similar to the 87,418 MT shipped in February.

Mung bean (green gram) accounted for 35% of the total exports, followed by matpe (black gram) 30% and toor whole (pigeon pea) 18%.

Most of the shipments were destined to India with 45,147 MT or 52% of the total export and China with 13,259 or 15% of the total exports, reports the U.S. agricultural attache. In addition, 6,000 MT of Matpe ready cargo (RC) and 750 MT of Matpe Special RC were traded in Bayint Naung Wholesale Market.
