France May Harvest Fewer Peas in 2012

VANCOUVER - Apr 8/11 - SNS -- Field pea and feed bean seedings in France are thought to be down from last year as farmers in the country respond to stronger returns from grain and oilseeds.

According to a recent report from the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP), field pea area will likely drop from 238,000 to 204,000 hectares, while feed bean area is seen falling from 150,000 to 108,000 hectares.
