USDA Buys 11,570 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Apr 8/11 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 11,570 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 041, the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags.
Purchases are for shipment from interior plants between May 1 to May 22 and between May 23 to June 13 for plants located at port.
In releasing details of the purchases, the USDA said "670 MT pinto beans under consolidation number 423151-1 were not awarded due to a change in program requirements."
