Peas Little Changed Against Good Demand
VANCOUVER - Feb 26/11 - SNS -- Canadian field pea markets were little changed on the week, with exporters and processors providing an undercurrent of strength to markets as they assemble product for movement through Vancouver.
Markets in the United States remain firm as processors remain busy splitting yellow peas to cover outstanding USDA PL-480 food aid purchases.
Canadian exporters will be able to load as much product to ships this month as intended, but the January through March quarter should set a new record for bulk conventional pea movement.
