Strong Demand Boost Peas
VANCOUVER - Feb 4/11 - SNS -- Canadian yellow pea markets surged higher during the past week against continued, strong demand from exporters.
This made it easy for markets to welcome news that there were 180,000 metric tons (MT) more peas on hand at the end of December than expected at 2.17 million MT in all positions, down from 2,745 million the previous year.
Inferred usage of peas is up almost 400,000 MT from the first five months of the previous marketing year at 1.487 million MT.
