CGC Reports Strong December Pea Exports
WINNIPEG - Feb 3/11 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 242,800 metric tons (MT) field pea were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in December. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports exports are up from the 112,300 MT shipped the same month last year and up from the 93,100 MT shipped the previous month.
So far during the 2010-11 marketing year, the CGC says Canada has exported 1,164,700 MT of peas through licensed terminals, compared to 644,800 during the same five-month period last year.
