Demand Keeps Peas Firm
VANCOUVER - Jan 14/11 - SNS -- Field pea markets continue to strengthen in the face of ongoing demand for what remains the most economical pulse in the world.
Exports movement from Canada remains strong, with actual and prospective bulk conventional shipments through the end of January now sitting at 1.3 million metric tons (MT).
Export movement is not as brisk from the United States, but demand for yellow split peas for shipments as food aid is keeping processing capacity well utilized, contributing to higher average asking prices in commercial markets.
