Crop Worries Help Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Jan 7/11 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets started the new year on a relatively firmer note against worries about crop production prospects in Brazil and slowing competition for available demand.

This was reflected in the spot market index from dry edible beans in the United States, which rose 14 points on the week to finish at 966.

Improved inter-dealer markets were reflected in growers bids in the United States, with the index for grower bids gaining 15 points to finish at 854.
